When someone passes away they leave behind all of their assets. Estate Planning deals with these assets that need to be distributed to beneficiaries upon your death. It’s a good idea to let the beneficiaries know what your wishes are in terms of distributing your assets so there is no confusion when the time comes. There are other reasons estate planning is important such as what your wishes are should you become incapacitated during your lifetime. If you do become incapacitated, having Estate Plans in place will allow you to avoid a court-supervised conservatorship. Another reason to have Estate Plans in place is to avoid the amount of time spent, cost and delay of a probate.

The first step is to come up with a list of what assets you have so that we can plan how they will be handled when the time comes. We have an estate planning organizer that you can fill out before the first meeting or we can ask you the questions in office to gather the data that has to do with who your family members are including children, relatives, etc. We need to establish who you wish to give your assets to. This is basically a question-and-answer process that we can then use to create an estate plan especially for you!

Where is Rex Crandell Firm located and what types of appointments are available?

Rex Crandell Firm is located in Walnut Creek, CA in the San Francisco Bay Area. The major cross streets for our office are Ygnacio Valley Rd. and Oak Grove Rd. We currently offer in person appointments as well as phone/zoom appointments for those who cannot physically come to the office at this time. We understand that zoom meetings may be the best option for clients who do not wish to visit our office in person, we are doing everything we can to make sure everyone is safe and comfortable during these times.
